CALL MEETING TO ORDER

Chairperson Anthony called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

None.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

A motion to approve the minutes of the August 23, 2001, Regular Meeting was made by Mr. Murray, seconded by Ms. Kyc, and unanimously approved.

COMMUNICATION/REMARKS OF THE EDC CHAIRPERSON

Ms. Anthony reported briefly on her sub-committee meeting last month in Rocky Hill, CT, with Mr. Craig Stevenson of CREC. This meeting beneficially led to the CREC presentation this evening. Ms. Anthony then introduced Mr. Craig Stevenson and Mr. Jeffrey Blodgett.

OLD BUSINESS

Mr. Stevenson and Mr. Blodgett of The Connecticut Economic Resource Center, (CREC) gave an informative PowerPoint presentation. The CREC organization
At the end of the presentation, during a brief discussion, Ms. Anthony requested and Mr. Stevenson agreed, to send a CREC prepared list of all businesses located in the State of CT. Members offered some background on some of South Windsorwill be working with us to provide the expertise needed on some very complex issues.

Commissioner Futtner submitted her sub-committees report on Communications and Publicity (Attachment A) to Ms. Anthony. A copy was given to Mr. Stevenson for his review. It was agreed that the next step is to send a contract to Ms. Anthony who will then review it with the Town Manager.

The members thanked the CREC representatives complimenting them on their presentation, and they left the meeting.
Ms. Anthony thanked her sub-committees for their work to date; stating that she is pleased with the entire commissions efforts.

A motion to adjourn was made at 9:20 by Mark Lillis, seconded by Jim Murray and unanimously carried.
